Glue

She’s a pot of glue, glued shut
with sticky secrets
Insides never again to spill
across the tiled floor,
stick to socked feet,
cling to cotton lint,
cling to memories of his touch.

Never to stick to artist’s fingers,
dribble through the pages
holding her together.
